don't want to flip the switch as soon as i start driving and just leave it on...I'd like to be able to get up to 75-80mph, set cruise and then flip the switch. the truck would already be up to speed when i activated it.

To be honest with you Scott I dont think its possible, there are a few things at play with MDS. First of all its a matter of load setting from the computer. The computer judges the needed RPM's the load on the engine and the speed at which you are going. To be able to just switch it on you would have to bypass all of this and set the sensor in the engine to respond to a signal that you send from the switch. All in all you would be spending a lot more money than you would save. I am sure there is a way to do it but in the end you would more than likely really do some damage to your truck.

A light would be a good idea. If you had the light to tell you when MDS was activated, you could set your speed based on where MDS activates. That way if a head wind increases the load on your truck just enough to kick the MDS off, you could adjust to it by slowing down just enough to allow it to come on again. And if you have a tailwind, you could kick it up a notch with the MDS still on.

like nukingfuts said...it would be way too expensive and some extensive work even if you found someone to do it.

but still if you got to a certain speed and just flipped it on.....theres a reason it doesnt kick in by itself already. theres too much load on the truck and it requires a good amount to keep it at that speed, therefor the computers smart enough to know.....run on 8....a REAL hemi. i know some hate the MDS, i dont have one but would think i like it..it'll save me some gas intown...but i dont figure anything on the highway.....ive lived without MDS before and i can live without it now....if it wants to save me some gas here and there great. but i bought the truck for the hemi. well not just the hemi but you get what i need.

will the 09's have MDS? if they do maybe you can be at a higher speed when the MDS kicks in since it has more power than the previous hemi.
