Default Dodge Needs to Recall there EGR Valves

OK I put in my new EGR Valve for 2005 4.7L. Less than one month out of warranty but I only have 23,801 miles on my truck. I got one from Standard Part number is EGV828 $37.00.Came out with no problem. I pulled the EGR and Tube out as one. But what a bitch to put back in. I have Big hands soI had a friend get the two smallbolts for me.
The nextday my friend who help me had his EGR gone bad but his was under warranty still. We went to the Dodge parts dept. ( He dose not like using after market parts ) and they told us that last week they did more than 50 EGR Vales. They should have more instock Tuesday.

The parts man and a Tech told Us that Dodge should recall them. They are failing big time. What gets the Tech is there is no Recall or TSB about them.

I would love to see Dodge step up and Recall them and make good on the ones that got replaced out of pocket.

I have never heard of one going bad, but if they are failing at the rate you describe, it sounds like the supplier is giving MOPAR a bad part and should be recalled and replaced!

This is from the EPA web site. hope this helps, I will link the whole web site as well.

How Long Do the Emissions Warranties Apply to Individual Parts of My Vehicle?
For 1995 and newer model year vehicles, emission control and emission related parts are warranted for the first 2 years or 24,000 miles of vehicle use. Specified major emission-control components are warranted for the first 8 years or 80,000 miles of vehicle use.
Parts with a stated replacement interval, such as, "replace at 15,000 miles or 12 months," are warranted up to the first replacement point only.

just googled it, seems like some states have their own warranty laws for emissions

Side note my cup holder in my center console (have captains chairs) would cost 105 bucks just for that rubber part. Found that out from parts, good thing I'm still under my 3/36.

if you can live with the CEL you dont actually need to replace the EGR valve. Alot of the EGR are going out on the hemi here recently also. I just unbolted mine and put a block off plate where it bolts to the head, the engine dosn't need it to run properly. I have new one here and when its time for inspection I will put it on so the CEL goes away, when my truck is inspected I will take it back off and save it for the next year.
