Yup, the other day I was in the slow lane and this guy in a little black gmc truck (he was pulled over on the side of the fwy for some reason) pulled right out straight ahead of me. I guess he didn't see my truck. We probably would have had a lot of damage and injuries. Luck ally, I saw him before we collided; I hit the brakes and had to swerve into the fast lane. Glad no one was there! Scared the crap out of me!

Anyways Sorry to see that happen, My old 94"' ram, same thing happened, except for it wasn't no handa it was a semi.

i lucked out today (since were sharing stories i guess) twice. first, on my way home from classes, i was in the 2nd lane (4 lanes... im in cali) and i was going 65. some guy going like 55 cut me off with no blinker. i pull up next to his ass and he looks and hauls some ass. i was in my moms honda and he was in a mustang. douche bag. then on my way to soccer, i was going on a 25mph street at... wow... 25!! so im literally 5 ft from this street where this guy in his "kool ass brand new g35" and he pulls in slow as fukc in front of me. god damn it!!!!! i got so fukcing pissed on that one.

Not to hijack the thread but..............when I was recently on hols in Orlando Florida, I spotted lots of people on their mobiles making calls etc.
In the UK it's totally a no no!
Not only is it against the law, but most people, due to the excellent publicity and advertisingover how poorly people drive when using mobiles etc, view this as dangerousas drink driving and abhorent anti-social behaviour.
Hence people over here will honk and shout at people who do this, to make them stop.
What's the laws in the States regarding mobiles and smoking at the wheel/putting on makeupetc?
Al.

There is no law against smoking or drinking regular beverages while driving. I do believe that there is a law about make-up though, but I have never seen anyone get pulled over for it. Talking on cell phones isn't against the law in a lot of states either. The states are quickly making laws about it though. You cant use a cell phone on any military installation without using a "hands-free" device.

Don't worry about thread jacking, lets just keep on topic

because at those speeds your traction sucks, also your reaction and whatever you did was not exactly what would need to ha e happened to stay on the road. 300 pound linemen running and a lil corner knocks him from the side, he'll fall, if he's standing still and the corner knocks into him you'll fall down.

Thanks for the heads up on the thread jackingbradsalex.
I thought I'd mention in the previous post just how anti-social it has now become and also against the law to do stuff such as being on the mobile etc, in the UK.
Just thought it might have been a contributing factor in your accident???
Police in the UK nowautomatically assumein situations where there appears to be no contributing factors for an accident, that a mobile or some other distraction was the culprit and look into phone records etc for any evidence.
BTW, I forgot to say sorry about your truck and also that you got out OK.
It could have been much much worse.
They are only bits of tin and metal andwe do get attached to them, but we're so much more important.
Glad your OK.
I would personally hit the person who caused that accident in their pocket,by claimingall and anything justifiable and hope that their insurance premiums reflect the fact that they were idiots!
It's the only way unfortunately that some people learn, either by pain in the pocket or physically.
I'll get off my soap box now and stop the rant ha ha ha
I guess it's cos' I'm a paramedic and see this sort of stupid struff too much and first handand how it affects peoples lives because of some idiot.
Ah well........................
Al.

Im sure the police report was filed and Im sure all your paperwork is in order but just in case this minivan driver decides to challenge you in court, it may not be a good idea to boast about driving 80 mph. Just a thought........

lol duely noted... it does say in the police report the speed was between 75 and 80. I didn't tell the officer that, she assumed that speed because I said I was going with the "flow of traffic". but a good thought none-the-less.

no, this wasn't a factor in this accident. I was taking the pictures and asked if they had an email address that I could send them too. They don't have internet or even a cell phone, like I said they are OLD...she was born in '39. She may have been lieing (sp) or playing the "little old lady" card but I didn't give it a second thought. and yes, everyone made it out okay, the kids were asleep when it happened and they only woke up realy cause my wife was SCREAMING and an emotional wreck. She hit her head and the addrenaline and nerves made her feel nautious but she is okay. the paramedics came out and talked to her, she's fine.
