I like the way you did that. No power problems? I am thinking thats the way I am gonna go. Do you have a DIY?

Obviously im not talking about the end that plugs into the detector, but the other end. I would like to know, so i could make one form scratch. 5-10 dollars its sounding like?

I bought a set of wire ends at Radio Shack that are crimp on and have a small diameter pin that will stick into the mirror plug. I know the pink one is the key on only +, I would have to look at it again to see which is the -. I'll look tomorrow. It's too cold to go out tonight . I'll get the part number on the terminals too. The bag is in the garage. It was a pack of 10 for about $2 % red, 5 black.
I like it being up out of the way and not noticable from outside. I'll try to get some more picture tomorrow.

Well I have the new Cobra but it came with a coil cord, so I will have to get a straight power cord before I wire it directly. I don't want to cut up the coil cord in case I need to use it in my wife's truck.

OK, the connectors are actually red and blue. I used red for hot and blue for ground. The + wire goes to the Pink wire in the bottom plug and the - goes to the black wire next to the pink.
I used RadioShack connectors part # 64-3095. They were about $1.99. Here are a couple of pictures.

Hard to see from the outside with my tint strip across the top of the windshield.

This is a picture of a Radar scanner that i harded wired in a dakota, For power i used the accesory (red) wire on the head unit as I installed them for him at the same time, By using the red wire instead of the constant (yellow) the dectector turns on and off when he turns the truck on and off

M45 Laser Blinder is the only way to go! I've got it on my Cobra.
However, I know several Sherriff's that use the plain ole radar signal and get many guys that have laser detectors. My Brother-in-law is a local and uses the radar most of the time. He only uses the laser for speed trap set-ups.
