Default Got a DS Predator

Kijiji is great. Not only did I sell my Bully Dog Diesel tuner instantly, but I put a wanted add for a predator, and someone responded.

Paid 325 CDN for the programmer, power adapter and serial cable, and he even came up to my work to meet me.

I had to callibrate the tuner, which took 10 minutes and then programmed the truck. Took a little while to program, but thats probably because I was freezing :P Programmed it to the performance 87 option and took it for a quick burn around the block. I didn't notice much on the bottom end, but after each shift it really barks. I understand the higher octane performance functions are even better so i'll have to give that a try.

One thing though is I can't figure out how to change my tire size with this. I thought that was an option?

Is your tranny still shifting...I hear one trip around the block will blow them.

Tire size is in two spots...under modify tune along with the other parameters and under the quick adjust. The quick adjust allows you to change the size without having to reflash the whole tune.

???????? Ok I think I'm missing something here. I've searched these forums quite a bit and a while ago it seemed like more people like the DS and had nothing bad to say about it. Now I'm hearing that it'll cook my tranny?? Did something happen? And by that I mean did it happen to more than a couple people?

I guess if you do a custom tune and do it wrong you could blow your engine. But I read with the factory tunes you will be safe.

I wouldn't think SC owners are completely in the clear either, I'm sure theres risk for any tuner ruining your truck.
