Damn, you must been really wrenching on that thing. Usually pans do not get tightened to much. The shop will back it right out for you, but it is possible they will want to drop the pan to do so, which is not all bad since it was leaking.

I just cleaned all the old RTV off real good, then used a nice bead of RTV. the sump filter i bought came with a gasket, but i said forget that, RTV is where its at. guess not huh?

The lit I bought came with a gasket too so I put it in there instead of just using rtv like I had planned. Maybe try putting the gasket in after you get it fixed to see if it stops the leak.

My filter kit included a gasket as well. I used a very thin bead of RTV on the outside of the bolt holes, mostly to keep the gasket in place.

our tranny pans dont have a drain bolt? huh....thats messed up.....

I used to put a thin film of RTV on both sides of the gasket before installing it. I didn't have any leaks but it was a fun time getting it back off.

I put a thin bead on too with the gasket, but I only put it on the pan side.

QUestion, with that liquid gold your now dripping, did you notice a differance in shifting, was it worth all the extra money compared to regular ATF+4 mopar fluid???
I wanna switch it out let me know your opinion....
