Since my last post, I've removed my sewer pipe and replaced it with some 3.5" mandrel bent exhaust pipe. No reducers required! I am even using the factory rubber doughnut at the throttle valve...the pipe is a snug squeeze, but it fits. Some pictures are in my gallery. https://dodgeforum.com/forum/members/...ntake-mod.html
Why? This is what I should have done the first time, and I discovered the hole I drilled for the IAT had opened up, allowing unfiltered air in. That reducer had gotten distorted due to heat and compression, so I figured this was a better solution. I also took the IAT and dropped it in the air box, below the filter. I might throw some insulation around it for good measure...

Any reason why you decided to keep the air box instead of run the pipe to the passenger headlight and filter it there?

i kept my airbox as well i was going to fab up two pvc pipes 4 inches big and run them down to the fog light holes then seal the entire system up and have true ram air or run them under and up inside the grill with 90s on them to collect air havent decided where i want to mount them yet...need a sealed box for ram air...thats why i kept it.

Personal preference really. I put an AMSOIL air filter in, and figured that should flow all the air I need. I also was not really sure if I wanted a full blown CAI, so this was a happy compromise. As it is, I like this. I can still use factory style filters, I can seal off the passageway between my JETSTREAM airscoop and the filter box, and basically get some ram air. And this thing really howls now when I drop the hammer! I like the VARARAM, but will not sacrifice my foglight positions for intakes.

The Vararam doesnt use your fog light holes, the Volant intake uses the fog light holes. The Vararam uses the space between your tow hooks.

n nice job thatonekid looks like its matallic lol i painted mine with hi temp header paint stuck like glue, on another note i might go back to a 3"...the 4" seems to have more top end but not alot of bottom end torque..kinda like going to big for the exhaust i think...
