You'll want the bypass harness that does not require the loss of a key. It is required if you have a Sentry key with a chip in it.

Oh, well I don't need that. Mine just has the regular key. Not a "chipped" one. Thanks for clearing that up.

Ok, here comes the stupid questions........how do I know which one to get? They show a XK530, XK531, CHDL3-PK, and some others. There is two of a lot of these part numbers. Looks like it has something to do with firmware. Forgive my ignorance, just trying to make sure that I get what I need the first time.

I found it......if you go to Viper's website and go through the steps of building your own it gives you the correct module. Mine would be the XK03.

nah it's the xk531 the 03 doesn't override the sentry key system just does doorlocks and factory alarm. the 531 is needed. that will take care of sentry key, doorlocks and factory arm and disarm even though it doesn't say arm and disarm on that truck it should disarm and arm through the lock wires if you even have a factory alarm.

So my truck was stolen a few weeks back and the cops found it. It was not messed up to bad 5 Grand damage. Now I want this Viper 5901. I have a 2004 Dodge Ram Big Horn Hemi. It does not have a chipped key. Will I need anything besides what comes with the Viper 5901?

Thats all you will need as that is a 2wa paging alarm with remote start and a built-in shock sensor. You may want to go on ebay and buy a glass break sensor for it. You will need a few SPDT relays and some resistors that dont come with it. Go over to www.the12volt.com and click on Vehicle Wiring at the top right and find your truck to get the info you need to install it.

Also, go to your profile and add your trucks info so we know what all you have and can help you better.

Start you a new thread if you need any more help as you will get more attention that way and sorry to hear about your truck. How did they get in and get it started?
