My question is... How beneficial would it be for me to get mudders and even a/t tires on my 2wd? Since only the two rear wheels will be spinning I imagine the front two will just caked with mud and have no benefit.. Anyone?
for really heavy offroading like that then yeah using a 2wd wouldnt perform nearly as well as a 4wd, no matter what tires you have. having said that, i've taken my 2wd through some pretty nasty stuff in the past few months since i bought it and i havent had a problem yet. once i got a lil stuck in the mud but i just popped it into drive for a couple feet then back into reverse and pushed through it without a problem. im sure if i had thicker tread on the tires that wouldnt have even happened. alot can be done with a 2wd, just not the hardcore mudding or rock climbing type stuff. for that stuff id use an old truck i didnt care about beating the hell out of

Personally I would get 35x12.5 dick cepek fcII's. Save the money that you would have spent on the much larger tires and accessories on a DTT LSD and possibly gears, unless you already have 3.92's. Believe me when I say how badly I want the 37x13.5x17 FCII's or Toyo MT's, but you have to think what is practical for daily usage and alot of miles. And the FCII's are a hybrid of a AT (center tread) and an MT (side lugs). They will give you 50K+ miles as long as you rotate them. And the DTT would really help your 2wd get thru the mud. Most of us 4x4's have open differentials, which will act like 2wd in slick situations because the power goes to the tire with the least traction. So even though our trucks say 4x4 on them, the most we can for sure get out of them is 3wd and that is if we add an LSD to the back.

hey thanks! i had never heard of these hybrid type tires but after looking them up i have to say they look really nice. good tread for the light off-road stuff i might get myself into, but not quite as extreme as the other M/Ts. are these the tires you run? If so, how noisy are they on the interstates? not that some dynamat cant fix that anyhow...
i have no idea what gears are in the rear right now. I bought the truck used but from what i can tell it's bone stock. everything looks like its still right out of the factory and it has really low miles. so i doubt the gears were changed. if they were its the only thing ever changed on this truck lol

Great choice, I love mine. 19k on them and they still look like new. Great highway performance and can still play in the slop on weekends. Get you a set in 35" and you'll be set.
I did a review on them in the Off-Road section some time ago. Go check it out.

Cepek FC IIs are a solid choice, and I hear good things about Nitto Terra Grapplers. Both are great tires in my book, slight edge to the Cepeks.
Xill, please do not take anything said as bashing. Everyone that posts here combines fact with opinion. The fact is you could run any tire you want on your truck, do whatever you want. It's your truck, you made the payments, and everyone else can f*ck off. I, personally, wouldn't run anything larger than 33s on a 4.7L with 3.92 gears, but that's me. Everyone's got their own opinion, and many of them conflict. It's my opinion that HammerZ71 is a dick, and he'd probably disagree. Whatever.

Not sure if i have a towing package or not. There's no hitch, but who knows. Dodge made different packages for different years and models with and without different accessories. Hard to tell really, but I'd say not.

If it has the receiver hitch then it's the towing package.
