picked up a wire gapper today...not exactly sure how they work...can any of you give me a heads up on how to use it? Also, does anyone know where i can find the exact gap distance they should be at for and 03 dodge ram 1500 5.7?

Gapping should be on a tag on the radiator support. It has engine rpm..etc in small lettering. there should be gap range and plug gap info.

Wire gap tool should fit tight between the gap. not loose.

Factory pre-gapped plugs may all be perfect when they leave the factory but then they go through the UPS/FedEx box throwing olympics and get stuffed into the back of how many trucks/shipping crates,etc... before they end up at your local parts strore.The odds of them being untouched in all that transit are very low,it's actually amazing anything makes it where it's going in one piece.

Feeler guages were always my tool of choice for plug gapping.

Default plug gap

going to do my own tuneup as well do you still need to gap the plugs that have three or four prongs on them even if they are pregaped im going to use the bosch platinum plus 4

You do not use those types of plugs. They are a big waste of money and it will run worse than the OEM Champion plugs. Use Champion copper plugs or NGK V-Powers plugs for the best results.
