Default Exhaust noise... or????

Hi All,

new to the forum, but looks like it's got tons of info

Anyway, I have a 2005 Ram 1500 with the 5.7. I absolutely love the truck, but it does have one annoying thing that I can't seem to figure out. When I get over a certain throttle level (about 1/4) I seem to hear what sounds like a bit of an exhaust leak coming from the engine compartment.

It only does it when the engine is in gear under load. If I put it in park or neutral and try to reproduce the sound it is nice and quiet.

It's bone stock, nothing modded at all. I just bought the truck about 2 months ago, and the dealer provided some paperwork to show me that the truck had a new block installed under warranty.

Someone told me that it might be a EGR sound? But I swapped out the egr and there was no change. Am I missing something?

Thanks in advance for any help

Rob

Yeah, the video of what it's doing....lol

What kind of gas do you use? 87oct is not good for the 5.7L Hemi. Chrysler recommends 89. Lots of guys have had trouble running 87.

I've tried some higher octane, same result. It's not a really loud noise, just kind of annoying when you don't know what it is.
