Wow! I am suprised at how many "yes" votes I'm getting, I thought sure everybody would be bashing on the ol' glasspacks!

They will eventually blow out. Your exhaust will get louder and louder. Glasspacks do have a nsty drone to them same as Flowmasters. I just reccomended the Hooker Aerochamber to another guy this evening. All stainless construction and sounds great. $70 from Jegs Glasspacks are about $30-40. I suppose it's video clip central until order time!....lol

Cherry bombs run about 20-30 bucks at Vatozone and have a nice sound ON A V8 but be sure you run full exhuast because they are LOUD. I ran ONE on my 72 Cutlass (single exhuast) with a turndown just before the rear axle and took it off within a few months because it was so loud I hated going over 55 in it. I really think a turbo muffler is a better choice and cherry bomb has those cheap, too. If you had a V6 I'd tell you go Magnaflow because glasspacks sound like ass on a V6 and Magnaflow is the only muffler I've heard of that sounds good on them
I have owned Glasspacks in the past, I had them on my old 70 C10 and they sounded pretty good, I also have owned Flowmasters it's not that I don't like them it's just that it seems like everybody has them. I have been on youtube and heard alot of clips of Glasspacks on hemi's as well as every other muffler under the sun. It seems like every video camera picks up the sound differently( or they practically have the mic IN the exhaust pipe so it sounds all distorted). I just want to hear from guys who may have tried this before. Some day down the road when my wallet recovers a little I may go for a tuner and a Cat back setup but I thought this may be an interesting expierement in the mean time.
Keep the opinions coming I love them all good or bad!

When I got my truck (less than a week ago), the first thing I did was just cut off the muffler. I was expecting to throw on a flowmaster 40 series, but I was really surprised how good it sounds. Deep and throaty, with just a little drone on the highway. I have the 4.7, so I'm sure the hemi would sound even better. I'd vote for glass-pack simply because I love loud, deep and throaty trucks, and because it wont sound like the crappy civic 4 bangers around here that run em'.
if you get a thrush tube like what i've got you don't get the glass blow out, i had mine on my old ford for 2 years before i put it on the dodge.

I have 2 cherry bomb vortex's with no resonator, true duals, i really love the way they sound, its very deep, but when you step into it they roar, they dont have the crackle of a glasspack, but they will have a little of that crackle when high rpms are hit.

Its amazing how many glasspacks are sold. They are pretty much a straight pipe with a little fiberglass around the inside. Sound is crazy as hell though. I say go glasspack.
And believe it or not, they are quite restrictive. All of those slots cut in the inside create a lot of turbulence inside the muffler and this creates back pressure. I personally think they sound like crap. Too much cackling for me.
just heard mine today as a bystander as i got my tailpipe fixed. the guy pulled it into the garage and he had to give it some pedal to get onto the lift, man that thing sounds damn good!
