Smoothest ride possible

Before you start... I know I have a truck.

I lowered the rear of my truck about 2" if it makes a difference.

With that said, I want to get the absolute smoothest ride possible. I know Ill never get a cadilac quality ride, But, gotta be a way to get it smoother.

My truck is a 4x4, But I don't go offroading. Worst I do is the occasional snow bank, lol. I have an 05 QC Ram 1500. I will soon have airbags in the back to help with the occasional trailer I tow. Other than that I don't load up the bed with anything heavier than an occasional fridge.

So I ask, What can I do to get the ride smoother than it is?

new shocks. personally i like bilsteins. the wheels you have also play an important role in ride quality.

Maybe better quality shocks...im having the same issue with ride quality..i hit bumps in the road going about 60-70mph and the back end of my truck just bounces sideways never ridden in anything like this...seems like the shocks dont even move the 2500s ride better than my 1500..

Shocks help a lot but if you really want it to ride like a car take a look at the 09' rams suspension and their 4 link(?) rear end. It litteraly feels like you are driving a car and not a truck. Not sure what if any of it can be swapped over to the 3rd gens but its something to take a look at.

air bags all around. can you do that on a 4x4? i had a buddy that had a sset uo on a denali with a 3in lift and that suv floated.

I'm still debating on the shock issue too; I'm certain that Bilsteins are great but before I decide I would like to hear from an actual user of the Edelbrock shock. Edelbrock "claims" to have all the problems solved by providing instant smooth ride, great handling and body roll control as well as good load capacity. Any truth to these claims?

bilsteins, ranchos, and fox shocks are the best out there imo. there are quite a few other guys on here that will agree with me as well. i never really hear anyone on here talking about the edlebroks.

Bilstein, Fox, and Walker Evans.

Best shock companies ever, and I've used all. Never on a street truck though, and they were 14" strokes, but the fact still stands, they're the best.
