bro, 4000 lbs? hook it up and go, stop sweatin it. having 3.55 gears does suck, but 4000 lbs won't be a problem despite them.

So what's the max I can tow with this truck? This is the question that hasn't been answered yet.

i wouldn't even think twice till at least 6k. 7k the gears might start hurting (not a problem I have), 8k I'd start checking every single thing and make sure load levelers are adjusted perfectly and such. any more than that I'd be hesitant.

OK, thanks, I do not plan on towing more than 6000 lbs so I am good to go. Do you know if the factory tow options included a connector or wires for a brake controller? And if I wanted to change to 4.11 gears, how hard is it to do?

You shouldn't even be able to tell 2,000lbs is behind you. The only thing you may feel is slightly off the line and passing gear besides the wind pushing it around.
I start to feel the weight around 4,000lbs. Anything under pulls like a dream and you have to keep looking back to make sure it's still hooked..lol
You'll definately feel the enclosed trailer behind you more than the extra weight in itself because it's a wind blocker.
Our trucks are made to tow/haul 6,000lbs without any problems at all. Especially if you have an Equilzer hitch.

Max towing Capacity depends on 4x4/2x4 Reg cab/qc 4.7/5.7 3:55'S/3:92'S 17" OR 20".
See how things can get complicated. I'm gonna guess and say 4x4 since your sledding. 4x4 QC Ram w/3:55's and 20's will tow 7200lbs. 20" rims take off 1,000lbs and 3:92-3:55 is 1,000lb diff. Pretty sure that's what it is. Max is like 9200 with 17's and 3:92's. These are very close guestimates if not right on.
ANything over 6k an equilizer bar is highly reccomended.

I have 4x4, 17" wheels, 4.7 motor, quad cab, 3.55 gears and will be using electric brakes and equalizer.
