Alright, so this will be a venting post.

Got off work early to go get the Cherry Bomb installed (auto shops close to early for me to go to while working). End up sitting there for about an hour and a half before he pulls my truck into the garage.

Takes the Cherry Bomb Extreme box I brought, cuts it open, pulls out the extreme, and.... Can't install it.

Why? Glad you asked.

It is freaking backwards. Some jack a** at the factory welded it all together backwards. Flow arrow, backwards. Guts, backwards. Effectively they turned it from a 3" in dual 2.5" out into a dual 2.5" in 3" out (a part that isn't even made).

To install it would cause some big back pressure. Since I had to order it online because no one carries it locally, I call up the dealer and he really just couldn't believe it. I kept telling him it was right in my hands, I was looking at it, messed up, would send him pictures. Finally he agreed to replace it if it was in fact messed up, but of course I have to pay to ship it back to him.

So out another $15 and 2-3 weeks of time while waiting to get the replacement, then will have to take another half day off to get it installed. What ever happened to someone checking the quality of parts at the end of an assembly line. Right on the top of the shell is a large flow arrow, and it is backwards... The dealer said he had never seen one backwards, so he was actually excited and giddy at the thought of showing it to his distributor. Glad me spending more money, losing hours at work, and having to wait couple more weeks amuses you...

yah, i found a site for the cherrys shipped for a little under 400, but on the page it says that there is no welding needed, just bolt on. is this true? it comes welded already like that? how hard would that be to put on myself then?

$400??? that sounds a bit high. I have a Cherry Bomb Extreme SI/DO and got it for less than $100 on ebay, new.
