My question is, do I really need a fuse inline? If so, where can I get one. I will be making the battery hookup cables myself. I have an 750cca 150 min res cap stock battery & a Sears DieHard Platinum 2150 Gp 31 (1150cca & 205 min res cap) Marine deep cycle mounted in bed toolbox. It is hooked +to+ & -to- with stock batt w/ 1/0gauge welding cable, w/Anderson plug (350 amp), so when I need the extra power for winching ect, I just plug it in w/Anderson quick connect plug. The inverter is a 2000w continuous/4000w peak. It will also be mounted inside toolbox right next to aux batt. Some help w/this would be great, thanks.

Anything pulling power should have an in-line protective fuse. However, if both the batt and invertor are in the toolbox and you feel very safe about nothing getting pinched, cut or otherwise shorted, then you may opt not to although be aware you have no protection on the wire. The invertor itself should have a fuse but that is to protect the unit itself and not the wire.
