i dont really think so, it messes with other systems in the truck to just unplug the chime box, ive heard of people getting them rewired so it doesent chime but everything els works (people who like leaving their doors open mostly) good luck

Easiest way to disable it is to replace the light thats out. Takes only 10-15 minutes. Need a torx bit and a new light bulb.

Check your trailer plug harness and all your bulb sockets, mine does this a lot but onl on long hauls, the passenger side tailight has a loose bulb socket, when i messed with it it stopped the problems.

I've noticed that the Ram is good at predicting a light will fail... I've gotten the intermittiant "Lamp Out" warning for a week and a half before a bulb actually failed. Also, check the connections for your lights, if they're a bit loose and wiggling, it will trigger the warning chime.

Thanks that give me a idea. i have wiring in the bed that was for the cap that was on it for the brake light on the cap and inside lights.which might explain why it went away when i had to slam on my brakes on the trip it might have moved ..thanks again Don

Mine was doing this for the last few weeks, it would say lamp out but no lights were out, last week the turn signal went out. Mine never chimed though, just had the light lit up before it failed and after, the annoying blinker though that moves double the speed when the light finally went was irritating but that was it.
