O2 Sensor P0138 code

I am getting an intermittant P0138 code on my 2003 Hemi. I have ignored it for a while, but now the mileage has dropped from a 14.5 average to 12.5 average. I have bought the front and rear O2 sensors and I am going to replace them. I bought the OEM Bosch O2 sensors from NAPA and they look very different than the ones removed from the truck. Has anyone successfully used Bosch O2 sensors? With all the downsizing by Dodge the closest dealer is now 45 miles from me and they want $95.00 for each. The NAPA Bosch parts are $66.00 each.

Hey Mario,

Did you have any luck with the o2 sensor change, I just bought a Bosch 13664 and dropped in before cat and engine light is now on and it aint goin out, I havent run codes yet. Just wondering if your haveing any luck, what part number bosch do you have? my 03 1500 hemi is lucky to get 10mpg. Im ready to junk it, 50k miles on it.

I just had to replace a 02 sensor in my truck and I replaced it with the Bosch sensor but I only paid about 25 bucks for it at Advance Auto. The ones before the cats are the important ones, if one of those are bad they will mess your MPG up and/or they can shut your truck down. The ones after the cats just make sure the others are doing their job.

Actually, the ones after the cats are making sure the cats are doing thier job, not the pre-cat sensors.

Im fully aware that the o2 sensor after the cat is measuring emmissions, The one before the cat is primarily measuring the air /fuel ratio. And this is why I replaced it hoping the fuel/air requirements will be spot on to maximize fuel consumption.

Im trying to find out if I bought the wrong sensor , bosch 13664(before cat)?

I need to run codes to find out what the heck is going on.

If anyone has a part number of a bosch O2 sensor for before the cat please hollar.

According to AutoZone.com, the Bosch 13664 is the right one for your application.

P.S. Just an FYI, the post-catalytic sensor is a Bosch 13610. Incase anyone was wondering.

Applecounty!!!! Or anybody else!!!!!! Do not buy a bosch o2 sensor they will throw a code everytime!!!!! Iwent through the same thing for 2 weeks!!!! I bought 3 o2 sensors all 3 were bosch kept throwing a light. So i finnally went to dealer and bought one and bam!!!!! Never threw a little again!!!!!!! I know this is my first post but trust me on this one!!!!! I hate to see anyone go through what i did for 2 weeks!!!

That's a good thing to know, that's what this forum is for. Anyone else had a problem like this??
