Cool Lift and tires...I'M LOST

Here is the deal, I have a 2005 ram 1500 with 17" rims and want to put a lift so i can clear 35" tires and i was told i have 33" tires on now. So i was told that i need a 4" lift to fit these tires. ( Is that true)? and do i also need 20" rims?

I also just in installed my new Magnaflow dual exhaust system last weekend and it SOUNDS GREAT.

No need for a 4" lift.
Tons of people will chime in and tell you this: You can clear 35s with just a 2" leveling kit, but the problem is not so much fender clearance in the vertical sense, but more so its clearance issues with the rear lip of the fender and the control arms. If running stock rims you'll need 1/4 (i think???) spacers in order to run those 35s.
As for the diameter of the rim, it doesnt matter. I myself prefer less rim, more tire cuz bump absorbtion is more important to me than handling on the street...

you could cram 35s in with just a level, but you'd need to do some bumper and wheel well trimming to make it work. To have them fit properly, you'll need 3" of body or suspension lift.

It really depends on what your intended use is. If it's for the look and you don't intend your truck for off-road use, then yes, you can stuff 35's in there with a level.
If you plan on any type of rugged use, your gonna want to combine a level with a body lift or go for a suspension lift...
