did not have any answers for me and i dont feel like looking through hundreds of pages to find it
I levelled my truck out and i want to get 33" muds or some type of off road tire with some new 18" by 8 or 9" wide american racing rims. assuming the wider i go with the rim the more offset i will need so how would i know what i need before i go spend 1500+ on all this and realize it dont fit. I want 12.5" wide tires but im assuming i will have scrub so is there any one here that has a similar type set up as i want but has offset rims? and how much of an offset would i need?

I have the same set up that you want but in 20's. To tell you the truth I don't know what the offset of my rims are. When I bought my rims they new what I needed.

4.5" BS is what guys get for 35's
This will cause them to stick out from your fenders. if you don't like that look, then go for 4.75" or 5"BS to allow for some future 35's????
stock 20's are 5.75" and lots of guys run 12.5" tires, while it's very close. it still fits.

i like the stuck out tire look thats why i was wondering what offset i should get. stock my wheels are 17's and the tires are 30's i believe. Would 35's fit with my truck levelled? or is it too close of a call incase i got a pig pay load or if the suspension goes under serious load and tires scrub

My thoughts if you like the stuck out look. Just go with a 4.5" BS.
Also a 9" wide wheel will stick out 1" further than an 8" wide wheel with the same BS.
You'll want a 9" wide wheel anyhow. Room for upgrade.
35's will fit with a 4.5" BS wheel.
If your worried about the rear hitting the tire, i would get some airbags which are about $200 and that will solve that worry. No more sag! i luv my bags. I always have a proper stance even with 800lbs in the bed...hehehe

Problem with 1" spacers is that your studs will hit the back of your wheels. You need to go smaller so you can use your factory studs or wider so the factory studs will allow the rim to be bolted up without going shorter studs which is not really an option IMO.
With that said, I tried 1.5" spacers and the studs still stuck out about 1/4". My wheels had indents on the back side so they tucked right in. i would pop a wheel off and see if you've got the same thing. If not, then 1.75" spacers is the minimum you can do. which IMO is way too much for stock size tires.

I have 35x12.5's on my stock 20's on my leveled truck and everything fits fine. There are spots that the tire is pretty close to areas but nothing rubs. My opinion is if your gonna go to 33's you might as well just go to 35's because my stock tires on the 20's were 32 inches tall so it seemed like a lot of work just to gain an inch.
