Werid new problem... WOT high RPM Misfire
Hey guys,
new problem, thinking someone might have some info.
2004 RAM 4.7 Auto
Truck seems to run fine otherwise, high RPM noted at WOT the engine brakes up aroung 4600rmp and wont hit redline therefor wont shift gears either. Check engine light will flash, then release the gas it will shift.
Seems like the more i drove on the highway, the lower it would rev before breaking up. Its similar to hitting a rev limiter
When I scan the codes it gives me "Random Misfire"
The CEL will flash when the rpms break up and will stop when I let off the gas.
Any help would be appricated.
Thank you

I have to add a couple things.
Sorry its early lol
Truck has new spark plugs, air filter, no other check engine lights or issues
I was staring to think it was plugged cats, but also the other day I noticed there is a Y shaped ground strap that goes between the heads at the back and then should go somewhere... But this stap is torn and I cant see wherre is used to connect.
So not im thinking this
-partially plugged cat?
-ground strap that I cant quite fine out where it broke
-possible a failing cam or crank sensor???
Thanks again guys for looking any advice would help
