Talk to some companies that build custom trannys. The BEST application for your truck is a torque flite 727 or a suncoast built 518. Call up suncoast torque converters and talk to them about their transmissions.

I think you should go the N/A way so look at heatperformance.com They have a stroker kit for the Hemi that will get your truck into the 12'swith around 400-450HPno matter if its a QC or a RC. Then alls you need is some transmission work, slicks, alittle rearend worka 75shot of nitrous and you have a truck that will beat most lightnings.

check out www.thehemishop.com They are the ones who build the stroker motors for heat as far as I know and they are cheaper through them. They build some SICK reliable engines. Their 370 6.0 stroker gets you mid 12's so the 392 6.4 stroker is even more of a beast.

You probably will dynoyour stock 5.7 hemi somewhere around 270 RWHP and your wanting to add at least 180 RWHP. Your best bet is to go to a race engine shop and talk with an engine builder. He should give you an idea as to what you would need done to your engine and a ballpark figure as what the cost would be to give you the 450 RWHP. To be safe and a little more trouble free you will also need to replace or upgrade your stock drive train to be race ready from the flywheel, clutch assembly, tranny, transfer, driveline and finally the differential. Also will need something such as Cricket Bars or torque rods to keep the differential housing from wrapping when applying the 450 +RWHP to the ground. To have your truck built to be able to have at least 450 RWHP and to be able to handle that type of horsepower along with 500 ft lbs of torque will take an easy $15,000.Now ifyou need your truck to pass the exhaust emissions that might be a different story.

Well the manual tranny in the 2500 will handle power no problem. Might as well get a deisel though and get an after market tranny then build that up. I have a friend with an 02 cummins qc long bed 4x4 on 33's running 12.2 in the quarter. He off roads and all that but he also has a truck that can beat 99 percent of the stuff on the road.
