Installing a fold-flat load floor Ram 4th Gen Crew Cab by BubbaRadioNetwork
Well, It is possible to install the Quad Cab only fold-flat load floor in a Crew Cab. First, you need to purchase 82209986 from your dealer or try to find a used one. List price is $261 from the dealer. I got 25% off that. You will need to remove the trim pieces on each side of the seat frame brackets. They are held on by 3 push fasteners. Remove the first 2 and push it up out of the way while the rear fastener is still connected.
Next, remove the lids. There are 2 screws on each lid. The 2 inner screws will have to remain unless you want to remove one of the seats as there is no room to get them out. Remove the outer screws first then remove the springs and loosen inner screws. You can back them out by hand once the spring is out of the way.
Next, put the fold-flat floor in place and use the front bolt holes only. The Crew Cab doesn't have the studs to use the rear holes. It will tighten up and stay in place with just the front seat bolts.
If you want you can remove the latch catch for the lids. I just left them as they are not in the way. Repeat the steps for the other side.
If you want to snap them down when closed you will have to get the other half of the snaps somewhere. I haven't looked yet, but I bet Wal-Mart would have them. If not, an upholstery shop should. Total time of install is about an hour or so. Have fun and enjoy this option that was only available for the quad cabs from the factory.
