i just did my 2nd oil change with mobil 1 synthetic...
did the first one around 2200 miles and the 2nd about 8100..
i cant tell if there is a performance difference... but i like knowing its there

It was up to 165* on a short trip pulling a camper. It's an 09 Hemi w/300 mi on it, just barely broke in. I was surprized that my local Dodge garage did not know what the normal range was or when the lights would come on, but thought it must be somewhere. Where did you find this?

The normal temps are from internet searches and my personal driving.
The temp the light comes on at is from the service manual.
where do you go to get the oil tested when its time
Blackstone labs. They send a free kit in the mail first, then you send it back with a payment of 22$ or 32$. 22$ is find out what is in the oil, 32$ is to find out how much lubricant is still left in it.
