The "value" of Mufflex is that you get/keep an all stainless exhaust system. Typical muffler shops do not employ stainless steel in their installations, they use aluminized steel tubing/piping.

Also I requested a DODS24 package from Mufflex (24" single in/out) and it is a world of difference from stock. I wouldn't want anything louder. It's got a nice rumble at idle (actually shakes the house at start, got the Remote Start, worth every penny) and at throttle up. It is silent at 65, slight at 70, and just noticeable at 75 - but it is not a fatigue-inducing drone.

Well it's not impossible to get an exhaust shop to use stainless steel tubing and the custom route seems like a better value to me, but really the only thing that matters is your satisfaction w/ the product.

The Mufflex kit only comes with the muffler and the extension pipe(s). So if you have a single and want to make it dual you will have to go to a muffler shop and have them add piping from the end of the extensions on the Mufflex.

Default Mufflex Quality?

Well I am not so stupid afterall. After removing the aligning divots and breaking a clamp trying to install my mufflex 24 on my 09 ram sport and hearing rave reviews from everyone else on how easy it was to install I figured it was just me.
I paid $40 to repair broken clamp today, Mufflex doesnt return calls once they have your money, After carefully tightening clamps one of the bolts broke, stupid me. Replaced bolt, tightened again, exhaust still loose, tightened more, still loose tightened more, broken bolt. I cant be that stupid, after examining clamp realized that the ENGINEERS at Mufflex supplied clamps that are the same diameter when closed as the pipes they go around. I was going to call Mufflex and point this out but they wont return my calls, they already have my money.
Anybody thinking of purchasing a Mufflex system should give your heads a shake, save yourself the grief and go to a muffler shop and have them build a system. The Magnaflow sounds great but the mickey mouse hanger is a joke. At least use clamps that fit and have some gearth to them, customer service would be nice to. Message to Mufflex, your customer service sucks , Dont waste your money and time on Mufflex.

Default mufflex

Was going to have welded but called mufflex instead, appears they sent 2 1/2 inch instead of 2 1/4. Could have saved a lot of grief if kid making them was paying attention. Will keep you posted.

If the pipes or clamps were off by 1/4", you'd have more than a little leak at the joint. The whole muffler would of fallen off.

Default Mufflex

The tailpipe clamps, and they were falling off, thats why I kept breaking bolts and clamps. Overtightening when the clamps were at max. Max for 2 1/2 inch diameter.

I just ordered a Mufflex DOD24 yesterday. I could get the same muffler cheaper at a local shop. The advantage of the Mufflex is if I don't like it, I can easily change it or go back to stock at any time. If I get one welded in it will be more of a hassle.
