I just put a retrofit kit in my wife's van and mounted the mic on the top of the A pillar. It's nice and clear.

Just wondering if I'm suppose to cut the wires or splice into existing wires. I saw one post saying to cut the wires at the clock spring.... What does that mean? Thanks

Yes, you cut the 2 lines. I cut mine at the clock spring about 3 inches out (if I ever wanted to go back). If you have not added the sales codes yet, add the premium tire pressure so the evic will show WHICH tire is low, not just LOW TIRE PRESSURE.

Lets get some more clarity here. What the heck is a clock spring? I'm only cutting the wires at the plug under the steering wheel not at the instrument cluster.... Correct? Am I suppose to just cut the red and green while leaving the black ground entacted or am I suppose to cut all three? Sorry but there are some issues and I'm trying to rule out my wiring first. And I really don't know what you mean by clock spring... Lol

The clockspring is the part the steering wheel bolts to. All electrical connections go thru the clockspring. Drop the bottom cowl and you will see the plug on the back of the clockpsring. Do NOT cut the ground. Do exactly what Jonny3000 shows and you will be good.

I have read on another forum that for the individual tire pressures, you need not only the code, but also a module that goes in the drivers side splash guard, which ST models do not come with, this is probably why you have "--" showing

I installed an evic cluster in my 2012 Ram Express. I also bought 2 different steering wheels. (4-6 months of trying to get this to work). The first steering wheel I bought was a 2011. Everything worked on the evic as soon as I started up the truck. The 2011 would control everything, horn worked, just as normal, but the cruise control didn't work! I drove it like this for a while. Then I found a 2012 steering wheel with evic controls on the left side, installed it and now my cruise works but no horn or evic control. I never did get my computer flashed or wired up the bus deal. I thought well if I have seen both parts work then the computer shouldn't need to be flashed. I don't understand what to do next, wire up the bus deal or get computer flashed? Anyone have any ideas?

I "suspect" it is all there, at least 2009+. Just have the dealer add the code after you get the evic working. The RDZ code is "ADDED". Email Dodge/Ram with your VIN and they will list everything it left the factory with. They will do any VIN you send. That was how I got my codes.

EDS451 are you responding to me? You think my truck already has the code and think I just need to wire up the bus deal?

77olds,

My recommendation is to get your Ram in to your dealer as it might need to be flashed to get everything working for you.

Hope everything works out for you.
