What you really need is a well recommend installer that does rear ends regularly. The backlash is critical. Went through 2 rears on my Blazer before finding a 4wd shop that does them on a regular basis.

Yea, I understand that setup is critical, and I plan on doing some research on shops to do the install. Thanks for the heads up though. Right now I just need to gather parts. Thanks again.

You need a master install kit. No shop that is worth a crap will reuse the bearings from your existing carrier and pinion.

You might want to see if your installer would rather use a certain brand part. Some rear end and tranny guys are like that, they know what works and what doesnt. Before you throw money at parts I would check that out.
Good luck man.
I put a Richmond Gears, Powertrax No-Slip Traction System into my chevy that had one wheel peel, man it feels like I got 100 more HP, The traction is phenomenol. I does clunk a bit like a locker once in a while on corners but doesn't bug me. It was the most bang for the buck. They have them for 4x4's I guess a lot of JEEP guys use them. It was basically take out the spider gears and replace them with this unit. I don't know how the axles work on the dodges or if they have one for this truck yet.

Thanks 72combo, thats good advice. Guess I'll concentrate on finding an installer in central Texas. Anyone know of one? Thanks again.
