Default Bye Bye Volant CAI

Gave up on the Volant CAI in my 09 Hemi CC and put the stock box back on.
I know there are lots of folks who love theirs but I never really saw any HP or gas milage improvements.

If anybody's interested, it's up on ebay - item # 170505554630.

Thank you for making my point wherever it was I made it a long time ago.....those CAI's don't work, well they make a cool sound under the hood and that is it. Oh and it spends the money you could have put towards a LSD rearend

together with the exhaust, intake and programmer my truck has changed alot. i did the programmer a while ago then the exhaust and then a few days after exhaust i did the volant. i dont care about mpgs so i dont keep an eye on that but the performance gains felt when all 3 were installed is awesome. intake alone doesnt do much at all..

Does it really feel it or just some feelings and some the noise? When I had a KN on my Durango I was on the floor all the time listening to the cool sound from under the hood combined with the dual exhaust. But I didn't have a tuner, could not bring my self to waste any more money.
This truck is what 330 hp at the wheels stock? Why should we need all that crap so you can beat a mustang? Buy a Charger srt8 or Challenger srt8 don't they have the 6.4 almost 500ponies? Now you will go looking for RAMS with Hemis beat LOL

Reserve is $225. Which is pretty good since it's only 6 months old and new ones go for around $360.

People can get just as good of an improved airflow by buying the K&N replacement filter for the stock box as the cold air systems. I just can't justify the cost for the shiny tube and heat shroud, but what do I know I am "Old School" and cheap.

Back in the CAI would do a good chunk on performance gains. Today's engines though adjust to the increased air and after a couple of days, if even that, you're back to where you started. Besides, unlike other very restrictive intakes, the RAM's stock intake is pretty decent.

IMHO, K&N, CAI, Cat-backs are not worth the money. Been there done that.

CAI - you need to be up on the RPMs or going way over the speed limit for any help. I don't do that with my truck very often.

K&N - I never noticed any difference on 3 different vehicles. I just change the stock air filter often.

Cat-backs - lots of nice sound but no real noticeable increase in HP.

I try to spend my money on things like better tires, better brake pads, frequent fluid changes, etc. More maintenance works for me, but I am in my 50s so my needs are different.
