Default Fold Flat Floor for Crew Cab ?

I just bought a 2011 1500 Ram Crew cab this week. One thing that is very important to me is being able to bring the back seats up and having a flat floor so I can put a dog bed in there for my labs. The dealer showed me the fold flat floor option that is available for the Quad cab, but for some reason is not available for the Crew. Their thoughts are that I can buy the one made for the Quad and mount it forward (about 7 inches) on my Crew. Has anyone tried this? Can anyone see any problems with doing this? Has anyone found an aftermarket fold flat made for the Crew?
Any suggestions or help are greatly appreciated.

I've never heard of mounting it forward 7 inches, but plenty of folks on here have installed the fold flat floor from a Quad into a Crew, it just has a gap up at the seats. The Quad cab floor kit is the same from the 3rd Gens. As far as I know, they've (Dodge or aftermarket) have never made a Crew floor kit.

Thanks for your reply,
I made a point of telling the dealer how important the "flat" space was to me so the gap to the seat is the reason they suggested mounting it 7 inches forward. I guess I will just have to let them try it and see how it works out. I traded in a low milage GMC Crew that actually had a 36 inch wide flat space (the new GMCs have changed and have less than anyone now)
I think that the fold flat is a great idea, just seems strange to me that Dodge would offer it in the Quad and not the Crew.

Without mentioning another place, try googling "dodge crew cab flat floor" and look at the results. I have a new quad flat floor waiting to be installed when the weather breaks in the spring...hope this might help!

I would have liked a fold-flat floor for my dog too... but here's what I built for my pooch instead. Only takes up the 40% side of the back seat and the flat "load floor" splits in half to make it easier to get in and out. Probably over-engineered, but the stacked 2x4's and some 1" slats match the height of the storage compartment well. I can take a few more pics if anyone is interested.

Doesn't he look impressed? LOL

Having sold my 09, I have the same fold flat floor pictured in my DIY for sale. I also have the Mopar slush mats for sale.

Thanks - it didn't take too long but required a bit of finicky trimming around the B pillar, the door pockets and the bracket for the rear seats.
