Hey just wanted to see what wire people where using to wire up light bars. I have one that I want to hook to a ACC, the directions say straight to battery but then the led switch stays on with the key out of ignition. Andy ideas with out cutting other wires? TIA
You need a relay. Lights to relay, relay to battery and then use an ACC lead for your switch to activate the relay and draw power from the battery. When the truck is off, no power to the relay (on the switch circuit)= no light.
Maybe you missed what i was asking, I was wondering if anyone had found a ACC wire on their truck that was accessible and didn't have to splice in. The lights have a LVCO but I don't trust they system not to drain. As I live in a cold state and loss of power already happens was looking for another alternative. Thanks though if I have to I will run a additional switch.
What year is your Ram, and which model is it? So you're looking for an ACC wire that is readily accessible within the cab? Where on the dash are you planning to mount the switch?
