Good point, but I purchased mine at Discount. They do 3/32 and if it's more than one of them they replace the set (P/R of course).

Try out the Cooper Zeon LTZ
its a 5ply tire and rated 50PSI
On/Off road hybrid Design and rides over all very well
I'm on my second Ram and bought them for both my trucks.

I switched to Cooper Zeon LTZ tires after the stock crap was used up. I love the added traction. I also like the looks a lot. I am certainly not impressed with the speed they are wearing though. And the fronts developed some cupping in under 10K and got a bit noisy, but that noise went away when they were rotated to the rear.

All in all, it was nice to spend only $600 for a set and they are doing what I wanted, but I'll be replacing them sooner than I feel I should. Guess I got most of what I paid for.

I should also add that they act like they are a lot heavier than the OEM Goodyears. They seem to pound over bumps more harshly, though overall ride and comfort it just as good as stock. And noise is not a problem (once the cupping was dealt with).

What does 'P/R' stand for? I assume this is tread life warranty, but I can't think of what that term would be?

Rob
They are a lot heavier, 53pounds per tire vs 42pounds Stock and the 5Ply
makes them a hair rougher but worth the trade off in puncture resistance.

I'd would also recommend looking at Dunlop Rover H/Ts. They're a highway tire but they do pretty well in dirt and gravel. And it's only $600 for a set. I can't remember what ply they are, though.

Also consider Cooper AT/3 a great replacement tire from the factory Goodyear 20s.

No matter what brand I have tried I get less than 11 to 15K out of the back set, by then they are 70% gone. They are wearing evenly. I am wondering if its something to do with the coil suspension or an improperly set up rear end.
