Default When to wax your new truck

Does a truck from the factory come with wax already applied or should you wax it when you get it?

I never even wash my truck, let alone wax it. You are awfully ambitious.

I would think wax never hurts, but I highly doubt it has wax applied from the factory.

I never wax my trucks. I wash using good car wash soap that has some wax already in it. My last truck looked good after nine years and my 09 still looks really nice without wax. It's up to you but you can wax it as soon as you get it home.

wax? whats wax? Kidding... I have never waxed my truck. The only time my truck has been waxed, was at the dealer when I was buying it. I'm pretty sure you can wax it whenever you want to.

I heard 3M makes a superior synthetic polish and eliminates the need to wax.

You can wax it anytime you want. And no, it does not come pre-waxed

Do note however, just because your truck is new doesn't mean it's perfect. Foolish to think that just because your new truck is on a dealer lot makes it untouchable to the elements. It was partly exposed during transport. Collects pollen and dust as it sits on the prep lot. Collects even more pollen and dust as it sits on the sales lot. Gets power washed with diluted water weekly. May get hit with a few rain showers if your dealer is located in an area that gets..weather.

You can wax anytime you want. All wax is really is just another clear layer of protection. You can pay the dealer to do it. You can do it the moment you get home. or a year when you purchase it. There really is no set time frame to be honest.

Speaking of such.. I'm about to claybar my Durango for the first time in 12 years. Should be interesting to see how it looks..
