Default Headlights turning off while driving

I have a 2011 ram slt quad cab that I have been having some electrical problems with. I just bought this a few weeks ago and have noticed some random electrical problems hear and there but tonight the high beams wouldn't work at all at first then the headlights just randomly shut off while driving (which had to be in front of a cop and got pulled over). I'm not sure what could be the problem. Any ideas? I'm new to the 4th gen Rams and know nothing about them. Thanks

Fuse, wiring, bulbs, headlight switch. Start checking those.

Hi Mygoldn,
We always like to ensure your vehicle is safe and performing optimally. If you decide to take your vehicle in to the dealer for diagnosis, feel free to reach out for assistance with scheduling an appointment or following up if needed.

It just scares the hell out of me because I have 2 young children that either I or my wife drive around and i can only imagine going 65 on the highway or in a snow storm and have the lights go out or den worse if there's an underlying issue. So far I've had no help from the dealership since it was as is and they knew I had kids and knew it had problems but didn't tell me.

Start with the items I've mentioned.

Hi Mygoldn,
I’m very sorry to hear about this. Again, if you are interested in a diagnosis from a dealership and having any difficulties, I would be happy to assist. You can PM our page with your VIN, contact, and dealer information.
