If you are driving down the highway and hit reset on your computer then say I am geting 18.2MPG with a 40% highway and 60% city you are not helping. That would be 100% highway in that case. Try to post based on burning full tank of fuel, in other words reset your overhead at fill up and run almost the entire tank. This way computer MPGs can be compared to hand calcs.
If we follow the template and basic rules this can be a very informative post. If not it will just end up being BS.

I get ~15-16 mpg driving back and forth to work (mostly rural). Just took it to Florida and only got 17-18mpg (all interstate). I wanted a little more, but I'll take it.

Misc. I've had the truck for less than a month. Drove to N. Carolina for xmas, then Columbia SC last weekend. My commute to work is only 1.5 miles.
OK I decided to go take a trip in the new truck and visit my son in Phoenix, about a 390 mile trip one way from my home in San Diego. I figured it would help with break-in and I could see how it would do on a long trip. I had recently dropped in the K&N filter and noticed what seemed to be about a 1 MPG to 1.5 MPG improvement based on the computor, going from about 12.5 to 13.5 in town(3.92s out back). My truck has the 32 gallon gas tank option and I made it to Phoenix on one tank, albeit with the little gas pump alarm on and 30 miles to end of tank on the display. The highest MPG observed via the computor was 17.9 going there. During the course of my visit, my son told me my truck sounded kinda wimpy and I should consider a cat back. He knows a guy that does really good work for a reasonable amount so off we went. I went with a 14" Magnaflow and just replaced the factory muffler and kept the rest. Incidently when we were looking at the monstrous stock muffler the back 1/3 was browned from heat already and you could not see through it. The Magnaflow you can see through and of course the truck now has a nice little rumble...lol Anyway, I really wanted to see what the milage was going to do. I immediatly noticed the computor was hovering between 14 and 15.5 range in town. On my return trip I decided to do a little experiment. There is probably a good 150 miles of rather straight and level hi-way on the trip, so I set the cruise initially at 65 and reset the computer and noted the mileage. After about 10-12 miles it had settled out at 20.5 and stayed there for the 20 miles or so before the next step in my test. I then went up to 70 and reset the computor again and took note. Again after about 10 or so miles it settled out at about 19.3. At about this point there is a stretch of the I-8 that is a 75 zone so I set it there and was surprised to see 18.4! Repeating my method at 80 I got 17.2. When I arrived in San Diego I noticed I was still at a quarter of a tank and the display said 152 miles to end of tank!! Needless to say I am stoked! I have a total of 200 bucks in the exhaust and filter and just turned over 2K miles at the end of the trip. Obviously weather, road conditions, etc. will play a factor, but I am very pleased and just love this freakin truck!!! Oh yeah and the extra power is nice too! I am getting a real kick trying to stay in the MDS mode and see what I can eeck out of this thing. If you haven't done these mods I highly recommend it, they will pay for themselves in the long haul, assuming you can keep your foot out of it! LOL Actually I had a goof ball in a Murano mess with me. Don't know what those have in them, but it had dual tail pipes. Of course after we stabbed the throttle he only saw mine! LOL Peace! ROCKER
