The seats that are having the problem seem to be the heated and cooled seats.
Its a preforated material. Obviously Dodge did not do any long term test with.

Cloth or all leather seats; I suspect; will be fine in the Dodge Ram.

I am working on a recall for those of us that own the failing seats.

My truck I want is also heated and cooled with the same seats you have. It is the only ones that come with the buckets and console. You would have to get a bench 60/40 seats no center console to get the other seatsw which are just heated which that part is fine with me but I want the center console.

I like the center console too.

Just got home with my repaired brand new truck.
Among other things
Dodge replaced the drivers side seat cover.

Drove it 21 miles home. The preforrated material is stretched and wrinkled already. This is bull****.

I have a very hard time believing its just mine now.

I need help making a recall happen!

I said Chrysler was ignoring me. that is not quite true. They respond by telling me my comment has been sent to the appropriate dept.

I ordered my truck last night. Had to order because no dealer had everything I wanted.

The truck on the lot that I test drove had the same issue with the drivers seat. There will be no denying that there is a problem. This truck had less than 100 miles on it.

They will need to work with their supplier and come up with a replacement material.

We should all just have our concerns written up before you hit 12/12.

Write Chrysler

http://www.chrysler.com/webselfservi...m%28%27R%27%29

File a complaint with NHTSA
http://www-odi.nhtsa.dot.gov/
click the file a complain link.
This is probably the best to get the word out

Then; on line I just started writing anybody and eveybody that has to do with the auto industry or any product complaint in general.

https://www.consumeraffairs.com/php/a_report.php

I had ordered another truck while mine was in the shop..I am in constuction... Put money down for delivery, cancled that order this morning because of the seat.
Told the salesman why and he said he had never heard of it. Bull.
This cost Dodge $32,000 this moring. It would behoove Chrysler to make me happy.

Took it to the local Dodge dealer and made them fix it.

I took a good picture, wote a letter and sent it registed to CNN.

My sister is an attorney. Specialty auto safety...this is not safety but she knows people.

Persistance worked for me in the past...a dangerous Ford truck problem. Ford tried to blow me off. Made me angry so I put the issue on the local news. Recall by Ford the next day.
That was a explosion possibilty problem. Fuel system engineering goof.
Best of all Ford knew it and had already figured a few deaths would be cheaper than the fix.

This Dodge is cosmetic and value depreciating. Annoying but not deadly.
I hope Chrysler steps up. They have been notified about the seat several times.. by my complaints. E-mail and phone.
They get enough complaints from other owners they will have to answer.
Dealers look at this forum. My local dealers service manger is very aware and I told him he could go to bat and get it fixed or replace the seat every month until its fixed or warranty runs out...or Chrysler goes under. I have the 7/60 warranty.

Probabaly will not take it to the local news station for this....then again I might.

I have an 09 Sport 1500 with heated and vented seats with 1200 miles. The drivers side seat has a wave in the material that did not used to be there. It sure does not look like it will hold up.

i agree. 99.9% of the truck is covered for the first 12/12 (obviously not including abuse). and the sooner and the more of us that complain, the better the chances of something happening soon. just like the IAT/washer/electrical issue (fix being released soon). i checked w/ our warranty admin, and she said leather is covered for 3/36. so if no recall or RRT happens, then everyone needs to get it fixed before the theyre basic warranty expires.

well if your looking for quality your definately in the wrong vehicle. i don't know what would make a guy want to buy the tundra. i have heard bad things about them like the dash wearing from setting stuff on them and i seen the tailgates crumple like beer cans from loading a quad or sled on them. there were pics of a guy on the internet and his tail gate was falling apart just from standing on it to get in the back. not sure if i like dodges new idea of the shock spring suspension in the back either, sure it rides smoothe but it still won't tow as much as ford half tons. its alomost like dodge made the truck to compete with tundras they are fast but can't tow much.
