Default 2009 Ram crew cab ham radio/cb/scanner install photos

I know that this wouldn't be much interest to most forum members, but I'm not doubting that there is at least one ham/amateur radio operator amongst the clan here!

Yes - I'm a radio geek - shoot me!

What I have installed:

Yaesu FT7800R VHF/UHF dual band amateur radio
Uniden BC785D Trunktracker scanner
Old-school Cobra 148GTL-F CB radio
External speakers for each
Jottodesk 9" "ShortStack" console - holds 3 radios but the CB was just too big to fit! (This was left-over from an install I had done in my old 2005 Ram Daytona)
Cobra radar detector
Samsung Omnia cell phone that double-duties as my GPS and traffic alerter using "Trapster".
Wilson 1000 mag-mount on the roof for the CB.
Diamond 7500NMO antenna for the Yaesu (on the bed - driver's side)
Antennex 800mhz antenna for the scanner (on the bed - passenger side)

This install does kill the ability to access the factory flip-down cup holders, so I used an aftermarket cupholder (again, left-over from my 2005 Ram Daytona install).

Also - the CB radio killed access to the ignition-activated accessory jack, so, I found a 3-way adapter that had a very short plug, plugged it in, then put the CB into place. Now I have 3 jacks that I can use for accessories - Radar Detector, power for my phone, and one extra for whatever. The always-on jack on the left is used to power all the radios. Since I'll never transmit on more than one at once, I'll never come close to the 20 amps that it outputs.

So, here's the pics!

From the passenger door:

From the top of the console:

I find this interesting, thanks for the pics. How is the radiated noise level in the 09?

I hear no difference with or without the engine running. I powered the install in my 2005 the same way - via the accessory jack - and the same could be said there - NO NOISE!

Correct - no center console, just the flip-down cupholders.

I got the cupholders on Ebay back when I had my 2005 - to my suprise it fit the 2009 like a glove!

Here's a photo of it in my 2005 Daytona

Here's the same seller on Ebay that I got it from. Yes - it's a little expensive, but, I needed it to complete the "big picture" when I did the installation.
