Looks like your Mopar cover has a more secure latch mechanism than my Bakflip; Does it fold up against the cab from that last position?

i like the way his latches up more than my bakflip, but i dont like that it looks like it sits about an inch taller than the rails.

thats one of the main reason i bought the bakflip.. it sits flush

I'm new to all this truck stuff so sorry if this is an obvious question :-)
how many different ways can you have that open and still drive? does it have to be all open or all closed, or can you do 1/4, 1/2, 3/4 configs?

My Bakflip can be configured in any combination. Each segment has its own set of latches and there are eye rings on the front hinge segment to which you attach bungee cord hooks. Once folded forward however much you wish you just bungee it down so that the folded segments don’t come up while traveling. It also has a pair of struts that allow you to lock it in the up right position if you wish to have the entire bed uncovered. But, when you do that, you can’t see out the rear window.

If you would like pictures of the various combinations I can do that tomorrow.

1. no it doesnt flip up to cover the back of the window. the last two pic's show that thats as far as it goes.

2. its kind of hard to explain all the different positions that it can be in. when it is folded flat you can open up the front quarter (the piece closes to the cab). it folds back towards the rear of the truck. this piece is also lockable. the rear quarter piece is also lockable and can fold back towards the cab. i will post pics later this week of all the positions.

3. your right it doesnt fit flush with the box. there is a "runner" piece that bolts down on top of the truck bed that does two jobs. first it provides better water protetion because the water runs off the tonnue cover down the "runner" piece and off the front or back. second it helps secure the cover to the truck bed.

4. this is NOT 100% waterproof. it will not stop all the water from getting in the box. but the amount that does get in the box is very minimal. when i wash my truck i find that the front of the box is a little moist from getting between the front of the box and the cover. i may try and put an extra bit of rubber between the two. but i am not really to worried about.

all good info!
decisions, decisions....

does anyone have an opinion on the MOPAR fabric cover. I have yet to see it in person but on the mopar site it looks nice, and the installer at the dealership that i bought my truck was pushing for it too....
