Default Complaints about your 4th gen?

My Ramcharger isnt getting any younger, and my needs for a truck that can pull a trailer are growing...so we are starting to look at trucks.

I figure that we will be getting something in a quad cab and 4wd...the engine will depend on what kind of deals we can find, but i plan to tow the mirada on a trailer, which is quite a bit of weight...im leaning towards a hemi.

My question, for those of you who have spent some time in a 4th gen ram, what are your biggest complaints? Ive driven one in a media head to head test, and I was really impressed with it, but an hour of playing around on a bunch of test tracks doesnt reveal long term issues...

so, lets hear whats wrong with the new ram?

The ventilated leather seats are a problem. Not crazy about the transmission either.

The seats don't ventilate enough and they should be cooled like all other vehicles that offer ventilated seats. The leather bucket seats aren't as comfy as the ones in my GMC.

The trans is a victim of torque control management. If you could get a good custom tune to eliminate 75% of the TCM this truck would scream!

The suspension does not give the truck a real secure feeling. But maybe because I'm coming over from a 3/4 ton truck (GMC 2500HD). The tall sidewalls give the truck some of its wallow at freeway speeds. Probably a tire with a shorter sidewall would help that out, but you'd probably gain tire noise a rougher ride.

My only complaint is that my dashboard appears to have some areas that look like the dye was unevenly applied or possibly worn off. Not sure what is going on. Going to take it in to see if they can fix it. It is right above the telemetry.

My other complaint is that my new bad ass truck always seems to draw the stare of vastly inferior truck owners. Bring it hard, or don't bring it, b!tches.

The transmission is silky smooth compared to my '07. If you want crisp and quick shifts, one of the tuners will take care of that. Dodge's goal was ride quality.

I don't have any complaints yet - except for the lack of backup camera or MDS light on my early model.

Transmission? That is weird that you guys don't like the tranny. Other than the soft 1-2 shift to help protect the transmission, I love it. It is usually in the gear that I want and the autostick is cool. You can get on it and if you don't want it to upshift, you can limit the up range with a quick touch on the stick.
Problems: It is bigger and taller than it has to be, no fold out floor in the crew cab, some slight harmonic vibration from the hemi. If you don't want a new truck, don't go drive it or you will want one! No problems that would warrant any type of concern at this time especially for a new gen.

Truck feels much more secure with the new tires.

Also, I think the seat ventilation is just fine. It's definitely better than no seat ventilation (most vehicles) and I didn't like the ventilation in the Lincolns. Also, the seats in this Ram are an improvement over previous Rams and are more comfortable for long rides than my last car was.
