Default Removing the tailgate & bed trim

I want to take this trim off as well as the bed trim in order to do an over the rails spray in. Anybody know how to remove them without breaking them?

Also, what's the best way to fill in the holes on the top of the tailgate in order to spray over them? I saw a picture of one missing the trim and there are a LOT of holes.

Not a dumb idea. I want to remove mine as well because the stock trim scratches too easy. I have scratches all over the rail trim pieces on my truck. Cheap plastic is all it is

yeah i'm not seeing how it's a dumb idea. that trim is flimsy and doesn't do a whole lot of good. i'd rather have line-x or rhino liner protecting the rails.

My plastic inside the tailgate is already scratched from a couple boxes. I may take it off too.

As much as I hate him, I have to agree, your going to have to patch the holes and grind the welds, i dont think youll have to bondo or prime

oh and I dont like the trim either but since im making mine a street truck i like the plastic look moreso than line X over the rails. I would prefer plain paint but I use the truck for my business so the paint would get scratched to hell
