Thanks all. I originally thought I might have gone a bit too aggressive for my tastes, but it has really grown on me.

Hi Inbred,

Did you keep the resonator on with this install? I have ordered the 14 am looking forward to it, but I could not tell by your video if the res was still on.

Thanks,

Rajncajun

Just finished installing my Mufflex 18" single in/single out. Good sound outside the truck. A definite increase in cabin noise but nothing too obnoxious. No noticeable drone to speak of at any speed that I could detect even with MDS engaged. I would not want it even one db louder inside the truck. Overall I like the sound. Deep and throaty. Not raspy at all. What I wasn't prepared for was the loss of power I experienced through the butt dyno.

Anyone else experience a loss of power after installing one these mufflers? Maybe the computer just needs time to adjust to the freer flowing exhaust...

I'm leaving it on for at least 800-1000 miles or so and see what happens. It probably doesn't help that I have the 3.21 gears (ugh). But I could swear the truck was quicker with the stock muffler...

I also installed a drop-in K&N at the same time... Maybe it's just too much for computer to handle...

321 will certainly not get you hopping off the line even my 355's suck. I thought all the sports got 392's automatically but it seems I am wrong. So we shall suffer, yes with better gas mileage LOL. Today I found something that my truck seems to make the most power right around 60 mph I tromped on it today after getting my hand controls finally so I can drive it...tired of my wife driving it all over, and I found as soon as you hit 60 mphor 100 kph it really started to kick you in the ass...I look at the speedo and I am doing 160 kph like a second later....that 60 over would probably get me careless driving in Ontario. Then about 3 minutes later I see cherries ahead ....oh not I thought the dam air patrol radared me...I slowed down to 100 kph went by him in the far lane and said phew when he didn't pull me over. I am gonna have to find a nice secluded road and some friends with walkies or cells so I can do some testing. What did they do put a lockup torque convertor????
