I think you have to pull the coil packs off and then the plugs should come out like any other plug.
I went way more then 30K in my 2003 and 2005 Rams...maybe I should have read the owner's manual!
Maybe someone with the experience can do the research to see if indeed we can use 100,00 mile plugs. 30K is a joke. Plus, 16 plugs makes it even more foolish. Ford puts 100K plugs in all their vehicles I think.
And then we would have to convince Chrysler that they don't need to be changed at 30K. This kind of crap as I see it now is partly to blame for their problems. Or is it just because I have a high performance engine? I have no idea.

I have never heard of a high performance foreign car, LOL. Your friend should buy North American. BMW is overrated. So are all the other German cars. Look at the quality of the new VW Minivan built along side the Dodge Minivan, sharing drivetrain and so many other parts. HMMMM I wonder how many German quality vehicles are built in Mexico on the sly. LOL. Personally I have to say after looking over the Ford the Chevy and the Dodge the quality in my opinion and I was an ISO inspector for Chrysler in the plant, and not because I worked there because of the new suspension and awewome power, and even I liked the interior on the Crew cab....huge room, my 6 foot son loves it back there.

The other 8 plugs fire on the exhaust stroke and are for emissions. Some have said that it yields a neglible gain in HP. You can also re-route the wires so both plugs in a given cylinder fire on the power stroke.
