Default runningboardwarehouse.com

I bought a set of running boards from them and, wow, what a horrible experience. They took a month to ship, but they charged them to my credit card the day the order was placed. They took the liberty to replace the ones I ordered with another similar looking brand (although I don't know if there's a quality difference, I'd really like to get what I order). The bracket setup was flimsy, and I had to add my own hardware to make it properly work. There were plastic endcaps that have gaps where they go together (top/bottom). Then to top it off, the customer service dept basically tells you 2 options....send back (pay shipping and 25% restock) or deal with it. They were rude and refused to acknowledge any of my complaints.

I got them to work, but I've never had a poor enough experience with any vendor (local or online) to drive me to write a negative review. These were the 5" SS boards for a 09 Crew.

nolimits, I'm not a lawyer but if they shipped you product that you did not order that's called "bait & switch" and you should not, do not have to accept them. You need to contact your credit card company and tell them that this company has swindled you and enlist their help getting a refund and pre-paid return shipping. Now with that said, if you modified anything in anyway on the product you did receive then you are stuck with it. By modified I mean if you've cut or drilled anything that came with the order, not if you used stronger bolts or something that you bought or used to just strengthen the installation. Either way thanks for the information. I wasn't going to put bars on mine but now I know not to even look at this company for any accessories period. Jeff.

I had about the same problem with running board warehouse.

Bought the 5" chrome side steps..I forget exactly. Ordered for a quad cab. Recieved; after a lenghty wait; side steps meant for crew or quad cab.

Myself and a friend held them in place to look. Steps went several inches past the cab beside the bed.

I called and they told me they were supposed to do that. Access your bed from the step. I had to argue until I was livid to get to get a number to send it back.

Cost me about 100.00 for a part that was not right...according to my opinon of what a running board length should be.

Same plastic crap for mouting. I never even opened that bag.

Had to pay shipping and re-stock fee. Never again and I do not suggest using them.

Wow they seem horrible. I was looking at some running boards from them and now they can forget my money. I will never use them because of what you have posted. Sorry about the problems you all encountered.

I know I had the option of repacking, sending back, and calling the credit card co, but I didn't even realize they were a different brand until I was looking at my order online later (they were very similar in appearance). I thought it was interesting that the service rep said that this was the ONLY manufacturer and ONLY running board for this truck "except maybe OEM"...yet they show several makes and models on thier site (which is why they said I couldn't trade). I'm not going to waste any energy on it at this point, I just hope I can keep a few people from experiencing the same grief.

I don't want to make it sound like they were total junk. The brand I ordered via the website was Challenger, and I recieved Iron Cross. As far as I know the ones I recieved aren't inferior. The Iron Cross instructions were vague and not completely accurate for the vehicle. The brackets themselves were ok, the mounting hardware/method was it's weakpoint (which wasn't that hard to correct). The only real gripe I have about the finished install is the way the front/rear plastic end pieces come together (or rather the way they don't). The vast majority of people will never notice that.

I would have chalked off my complaints on the running boards to personal preference. It was runningboardwarehouse that failed in every possible way to leave a good impression.

I looked at both of those and would like to see how they look on your truck

I wish I'd searched the forum before I purchased from this company. I just received mine and was very disappointed. Poor quality, bad fit and now they are giving me the run around on the return. This will likely be an expensive mistake.
