I have made it 4000 miles before my oil light comes on. I mostly drive on the highway. Do the changes myself. Fram Toughguard Filters - Penzoil Full Synthetic

I recently had my oil changed for the second time, this time I asked the dealership shop supervisor why my oil change light came on at 2,600 miles the first time and well before the 6k mark for the second time. He stated that if the truck is cleared (oil change light) with the computer hooked up to the truck then the oil change light will come on at approx the 3k mile interval BUT if the light is cleared manually (by putting the key in the accessory position and pushing on the gas pedal all the way down 3 times) then the light will come on at the recommended 6k interval. I told him "6K WOW!!!, what kind of person changes his oil after 6K miles!!!"

Our's just came on at 4000kms or almost 2500miles.

I only use Wix filters, I have read bad things about Fram

I think we will take it to the dealer for the first change.
