Yes sir and you always should. My didn't pull or vibrate afterwards but the analysis showed it was out after the install.

I go with magic eraser, local body shop supply should have them. I had to but 2 and the thing in the middle that escapes my mind at this time but it was worth it, still on the first one, i had to get all the glue from the glue from the moldings on an 88 chevybox including the stick that is like 10inches by the width of the tailgate. Worked great and took no time and no damage.

You are correct the Majic Eraser is that sponge thing from Mr Clean we don't want that confusion.

Hi All:
I got mine at Checker Auto parts this morning. A one ounce bottle for $2.29. I tried the "SLT" badge on the tailgate first and used the fishing line I got at WALMART, they don't have the automotive type GOO-GONE, and it came off in about 30 seconds.
It had a big section in the middle that had all the adhisive stayed on the badge, so it was not that hard for the goo-gone to remove the rest.
I think part of the reason it came off so fast, the badge, was the fact it was 11:00 A.M. and the temp was 106 degrees and climbing. This is even hot for the Nevada desert this time of year.
While sitting in front of the cooler, on the work bench I had a small bottle of Acetone and I put a few drops on the glue from the badge and it melted it like butter. i think it will work better than goo-gone or anything else on the glue and not hurt the paint. Will try it on a small area and see if it will hurt the finish. Maybe this evening or first thing in the morning, too hot now.

Hi All:
I tried the Acetone on the inside of the tailgate and it did nothing to the paint. The "Hemi" badges will come off next and will use it to remove the adhisive left on the truck.
