financially for the company any company lifetime warranty on the power train was a bad business decision.

well it shouldnt matter about the warranty...they should build a product that doesnt need a warranty....It shouldnt matter if it has 1 mile or 200,000. Dodge should stand behind there product.

Don't you keep copies of your service receipts? The hardcopy will serve as record of having it done.

Maybe they got nervous about the 10s of thousands of cars and truck buyers that just traded in vehicles they had driven for 10 - 15 years before buying a new vehicle.

just a guess

^^^ nailed it

the poor people who cant afford a new car every 5-6 years are getting rid of them now...and since they are getting new pt cruisers under 10 grand, im sure they will hold on to these POS for 20 more years... and dont count on them getting thier oil changed every 3000 miles...

do you know how to make a vehicle that will never break and then reproduce it to supply the world? That is impossible and it is a giant financial burden to try and make sure every one of your vehicles stays running, let's face it.......most are user caused and blamed on the manufacturer

I don't think it's a bad business decision. What is the ratio of people that actually keep there trucks beyond 6 yrs vs people that get a new truck every three to four years. I usually get a new truck every 2 to 3 years, except for this one. The lifetime warranty ends when the truck leaves the original owner. Every time I get a new truck I always say this is the last truck and sure enough 2 to 3 years later I am purchasing a new one.

No, my 95 and 04 were entered in their computer, they had complete records of its history since new, 04 was a demo and they pulled up its record to show me, had 3000 miles and 1 oil change, said it would be availible to any Chrysler dealer by typing in serial #.

the point is that you cannot make something to last "forever" so why should they be expected to stand by it "forever"
