If there was a Mopar supercharger that didn't void your warranty, like Toyota's TRD offers, then I would jump all over it. Otherwise I'm not so sure.

agreed, i'd be interested but i've had newer blown vehicles in the past and I know the constant tinkering and tuning that goes along with it. If there is something that is true plug and play with a flash up programmer i would be interested. As long as i'm not the first one to try it, dont want my engine to go pop

Keep the input coming guys....good or bad. I would strongly suggest to anyone who does not already know about Vortech to check out their website. The kit we are discussing is to stay "safe" and keep it a "daily driver". As with all of you, I too do not want any issues on my new truck. I know the guys at Vortech and trust their R&D crew. It is thought that the 5.7 may not be very stout so that would be where the first part of the R&D would focus. Finding the week links and making a kit that is right for the truck is the goal. 100Hp is not a huge increase by any means...

Oh, and for those who may not have seen the new Hurst Challenger Yet....they have a good review on their website with Jay Leno.

DIDDO! I would just feel safer. Even though I do not have a warranty anymore! Lol. I feel that would open the doors to alot more and alot more people too!

I hear you on that one for sure. A nice Mopar supported kit would be awesome!!!! By the way...Toyota's TRD unit DOES void the regular warranty if it is found that the kit, if used improperly by the owner, is the reason for any damage...such as racing. This would obviously be a reason for TRD, as with Vortech, to build a mild street kit that does not push the engine to its limits. The same actually applies to the Vortec unit under the "Magnusson Moss Act" (Spelling). "After market parts can't be stated as the reason to arbitrarilly void a warranty unless they are the direct cause of failure." The good thing about Vortech for California owners is it would most likely meet CARB requirements to remain street legal....but can't be guaranteed at this point.

The difference between the Vortech or any other comapany and TRD is that theirs is supported by Toyota Motors.

Definitely interested. Price would be a BIG factor along with boost level, 5-6psi would seem safer than an 8psi boost (agree with Ramphreak).

I also want a functional Ram Air style hood to go with.......I have to stop now, wife just gave me that look.

I would also be interested. Are they considering teaming up with Dodge to get this done? Would alleviate a lot of concerns for the Ram owners. Also could help with Dodge in making a "factory" SRT8 version.

An extra 100 hp....MMMMMMMmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmMMMMMMMMM good.

The 5.7L will handle a decent amount of power, even with a stock bottom end. My guess would be adding 100HP to our 390HP would still be very safe.

However, our motors are 10.5:1 compression. My guess is that 8-9 PSI, even with premium, is going to be pushing it. Even if they said it was safe, the first two things I would buy along with their kit would be a knock sensor and a wideband air/fuel gauge. I would not risk the motor.

Now, if you want a really awesome set up, buy some lower comp pistons and push the boost.

As far as the warranty is concerned, you can kiss it goodbye. I seriously doubt a dealer is going to fix a motor, or anything bolted to it like the trans, that has had an increase of 100 hp.

The transmission can be upgraded to handle the increase in torque and HP. There are parts such as carriers, clutches, torque convertors that fit our transmission.

But the biggest question is... how are they going to tune it????

Edit: For 5K$ I would build my own turbo kit. Either way, this truck will not see boost.
