My very good friends at Vortech Superchargers have inquired about using my truck to test a system for production. They are thinking of creating a twin screw set-up and run around 8.5lbs of boost that will give about 100hp/100tq+. My concerns would obviously be many.....reliability, CARB status, MDS Effects, etc. We all know Vortech is a great name so quality is not the issue.
Their concern is whether the 09 Hemi Dodge Truck crowd would actually be interested in a super charger system. The R&D takes quite a bit of time and money and the investment is on their end to start. As you can see from their web-site, dodge truck owners are typically not into these upgrades and this would be their first Dodge truck production kit.
I have told them I would check with the forum members to get some feedback. Based on the input I receive will dictate what they and I decide to do. At this point I can't provide any information such as price etc but I can relay any concerns or questions you may have. Let me know what you all think......

I know you are looking for the people that are interested, however, I am not one of those. I do know there are a few people that had talked about it though. Doc being one of them. To me, the super charger just isn't worth the $5000 or so on a vehicle that I am not only making payments on but also would very much like to keep my warranty intact. Some years down the road, that is something that I would certainly be more curious about. Right now though, just isn't my cup of tea.

I thought the same thing. Vortech making a twin screw???? But if they make one I'll buy one. And 8-9psi is fine just as long everything stays together.lol

Yea you would definatly need a new transmission if you add 100hp... You didnt know dodge started making their transmissions out of porcelain to save weight lol.

No worries....all feedback is appreciated! I totally understand about the warranty concern. I am more concerned about the CARB status personally to keep me from gettin a ticket...LOL.
I wouldn't be interested either, especially for the price. I would try more simplier, and less expensive options to improve my truck performance.
I agree with your thought process...I am hoping some of the tuner geeks get a new programmer that can get some more power. However even that will be limited. Your only other option would really be Nitrous....and we all know how that plays out. Unfortunately, "bolt-ons" such as intakes and exhausts just won't get er done!

Yes...they are wanting to experiment with the genuine Lysholm Twins. They already have several GM trucks in the production R&D center for the same kits.....so Dodge will be next if interest can be proven. The 8-9psi range would most likely be max....but they would obvioulsy find what can be done and safe out of this motor. If that number is 5-6psi that is where it would sit. However, 5-6 lbs may not yield enough power for anyone to care about it especially with the cost comparison involved. 5,000 is alot for most people to bite on.
