Default Rear Gear Ratio

I am trying to figure out how this works?

What is the best gear ratio for best fuel economy? Is that ratio different than the one for best towing?

I don't get it

Best for towing is numerically higher (3.92) Best for milage is numerically lower (3.21)

actually depends on where your driving, been reading where if you do more in town driving 3.92's do better for gas milage, 3.21's better for highway

Obviously 3.55 arête the middle of the road. What gear do have right now? What are you looking to do with your truck?

I don't have one right now, been in the market for a really long time and have been waiting for the price of the 09's to go down, I like the "fuel saver" idiot light and the fact that the console in the HEMI will tell you how your doing on fuel. I do mostly hwy driving so MPGs are important, I might tow a boat or a smaller RV or maybe a loaded down 16ft trailer, but this isn't that often at all. It will be a hunting truck on the weekends, so 4x4 is a must have.

I consistantly get 12 in city driving. Haven't gone on too many highway trips but it's been getting 20 with the cruise set on 70. This is with the 3.55 ratio and hand calculating on every fill up.

I am currently averaging 14.9 in 95% city driving with the 3.92's. I am pretty conscious about trying to play the "how long can I stay in 4 cyl. mode" game while commuting though, which is most of my driving.

Tell me your secret. I hardly go above 2000 rpm and cannot get more than 13.

Do you use premium?

Is that by EVIC or by hand?
