Default OEM rims

Is 800$ too much for 4 OEM chrome clad rims? They have light scratches on them around the centre from tire machine. Opinions please I have to make a decision soon.

I had somebody once try to trade me their 20's(OEM) for my 17's(OEM), so my answer is NO. Especially if they have scratches. If the scratches were made with a piece of steel scraping them, then those scratches will rust. Tell the guy 600 bucks, or walk away.

How will the scratches rust? Plastic rusts?

Too high of a price, they are not worth 200 new without a mark if you ask me, you can buy some sweet meats for 200, Some nice 17 inch and put some Bf Goodrich All terrains.

$800 is too much especially with scratches even if there light.ive seen new factory 20s for $600-700 on ebay.if your set on the rims depending on the scratches i wouldnt pay more than $450-500

As of now, that sounds like a fair price for a set of excellent condition OEM wheels, although slightly on the high side for a scratched set. After a few years when the market is saturated, you will be lucky to get $400 for them, probably less with scratches. I would be making that tire shop buy me new wheels, they should not have scratched them. Why were they on a tire machine already, anyway? There is no way you wore out the stock tires already.

Some people just don't like these tires Including me, if I could afford a set of rims and tires they would be on there...I mean good tires not the crap that comes with these.

I got rid of the stock crappy tires in about 1k miles. I've been very happy since they were gone. But if the shop had scratched my wheels, they would have bought me new ones, regardless of whether I was keeping them or selling them. That's probably on the high side for a perfect set, definitely high for a scratched set.

If they are scratched $500 plus shipping sounds fair.

I wish I could unload mine for $800. But you can't find any decent used 22's or 24's that aren't scratched or have road rash on them.

No, plastic wouldn't rust, but if you scratch the rims (chrome clad or not) with a piece of mild steel, then that scratch WILL rust. This effect can also take place on metal that does not oxidize in oxygen. Metallurgy 101 actually paid off...
