Dealer offered me invoice price on a factory build on a 2010 Sport... Sticker is 42,800 and invoice is 38,600..Salesmen gave me the usual rant that this is there offer on an order.. How much wiggle room do you think i have in that price?
Any advice appreciated.

How many rebates they have going on now? You should be able to go farther below that, remember they are trying to screw you out of a buck and you're trying to do the same to them. Check online what rebates are available, I think you should be able to get another $2,000-3,000 off if not more.
Supposedly Employee price is 100 bucks over invoice and that is all the dealer makes. It is to cover the expenditures of the transaction. Even years ago though I could talk them into paint sealant, under coating and rustproofing some extended warranty. Where pray tell does the money for that come from. So invoice and invoice are two different things. Their invoice and the invoice they work from if your are an employee. I was gonna get my wife to go apply for a job selling cars when she got laid off just to learn how to buy cars!! LOL You know to get every cent possible and every extra available for free. I suppose there is a website but that would be general and not specific to the dealership or even the car company. I am sure some are pretty much the same but there have to be differences of there would not be competition.

My sport is on order and we settled at invoice, plus the rebates, plus a $1500 conquest rebate since the dealer let me sell my Acura TSX through their books to show it as a trade (also saving me on the tax) for the new purchase.
So, in my opinion, invoice is fair, as long as they are doing other things (rebates, conquest cash, tax savings, etc)
i got a little below invoice with customer loyalty, but you haft to remember your ordering something custom for you and bargains are apreciated but shouldnt be expected at least in my opinion.
Of course I bought my 2009 Crew cab sport at the height of there bankrupcy, so I think I got a sweet deal. The sticker on mine was $39,800 and I bought it for $28K. This was when they weren't sure which dealerships were going to stay or go. I got the best price from a dealership that was on the chopping block just days before they were shut down. Then I took that price and let another dealership beat it before the first one got shut down. Even though they are on the rebound I still think you could do better than invoice. Good luck and don't let them B.S. you!
Well just my 2 cents but I ordered my 09 end of March finally got it in June. I took in a print out of the exact truck I wanted and it was built with my name on the sticker when it finally came. Sticker was 39480 and I got it for 25090 plus tax and they threw in a color matched Linex bedliner, so I think they can do better especially since Chryslers sales are down 30 percent as released by the media yesterday.
